Candidates are advised to read the screening test regulations and the information bulletin for FMGE October 2026 carefully, and to satisfy the terms and conditions for eligibility before paying the fee.

Questions people ask

How many times a year is the FMGE (Screening Test) held?

Item 2.1 of chapter 2 of the October 2026 bulletin says that NBEMS shall now be conducting FMGE (Screening Test) three times in a year. The item names the June 2026 session, conducted on 28 June 2026, and the next screening test, scheduled for 31 October 2026.

Can the examination fee be refunded after I submit an application?

Chapter 3 of the October 2026 bulletin says that submitted application forms cannot be withdrawn. It says the fee shall neither be carried forward to a future date nor refunded under any circumstances, and that any claim for refund, adjustment or carrying forward will not be entertained.

Do the 2021 regulations cover students who studied abroad before they came into force?

Under regulation 5(1)(a) and (b) of the National Medical Commission (Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate) Regulations, 2021, those regulations do not apply to foreign medical graduates who acquired a foreign medical degree or primary qualification before they came into force, or to candidates who were pursuing their education in foreign institutions before then. The Commission's FAQ gives 18 November 2021 as the date the regulations came into force (Q2 and Q4). Under regulation 5(2), such graduates and candidates are governed by the erstwhile applicable regulations. Regulation 5(1)(c) says the regulations do not apply to graduates specifically exempted by the Commission or the Central Government by notification. The FAQ's own disclaimer says it cannot be upheld in a court of law, so the regulation is the text to check for legal validity.
