Seven schools in the Ministry of Education's 2023–2024 annex for English-taught undergraduate clinical medicine are printed under the Shanghai, Zhejiang and Fujian headers of the national list of higher education institutions. This site counts two rows for Shanghai, three for Zhejiang and two for Fujian, and it adds up the 2023–2024 plans for each province as 80, 300 and 100. This page sets out those rows as a reference; for the whole section, see this register's section page.

Which schools and which province header

The annex lists universities by their Chinese names, and the English names in the tables are the ones this register uses. The province headers come from the Ministry's national list of higher education institutions, which gives its position as of 17 June 2026. Each school is listed below under the header it is printed under in that national list.

The annex is the notice 教外厅函〔2023〕10号, dated 15 May 2023 and published on the Ministry's site on 30 May 2023. The English title of the notice and the column headings in this section are this site's translation of the Chinese text.

Reading the Double First-Class column

The second-round Double First-Class list is published in the notice 教研函〔2022〕1号 by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance and the National Development and Reform Commission. The page header of that notice prints 11 February 2022 as its generation date. Its annex lists universities with the disciplines that are named for each of them.

In the tables, "Yes" means the annex has an entry under the school's Chinese name. A dash means the annex has no entry under that name. This page does not read a Double First-Class entry as a statement about the English-taught MBBS programme in the 2023–2024 annex.

The order and the plans

The order of the rows in the annex, and the size of each plan, are not a ranking. This page does not compare the schools on quality, and the plan figures are the numbers printed for 2023–2024 only.

What the 2023–2024 list covers

Paragraph 1 of the notice (教外厅函〔2023〕10号, dated 15 May 2023) says that for 2023–2024 the Ministry entrusted 44 universities to enrol international students in English-taught undergraduate clinical medicine, with 3048 places in total. It says the places were set by taking account of earlier years' enrolment and of each school's day-to-day teaching and management of medical education for international students.

The annex has three columns: 序号 (number), 学校 (school) and 2023—2024学年招生计划数 (the 2023–2024 enrolment plan). It has no fee column and no entry-requirement column.

The Ministry's policy index of study-abroad and study-in-China documents lists eleven annual MBBS list notices. The newest is dated 2023-05-30 in the index, which is the date the notice was put on the site, and it is for 2023–2024. The index listed no later edition when this site read it on 11 October 2026. Confirm the current year's status with the university and the Ministry.

Questions people ask

Does the annex show fees or entry requirements?

The annex has three columns, 序号 (number), 学校 (school) and 2023—2024学年招生计划数 (the 2023–2024 enrolment plan). It has no fee column and no entry-requirement column.

What does the 2023–2024 list cover?
