The Ministry of Education's list for 2023–2024 has 44 schools that enrol international students in English-taught undergraduate clinical medicine, with 3,048 places in the annex. Counted by the province header each school is printed under in the Ministry's national list, they fall under 22 province headers (this site's count), and nine province headers have no school in the annex. This page gives those counts and sums; the school names are in this register's section page and the by-province guide.
How the figures were made
The list is set out in notice 教外厅函〔2023〕10号, issued by the General Office of the Ministry of Education and dated 15 May 2023. The Ministry published it on its site on 30 May 2023. Paragraph 1 of the notice says that the 44 universities will enrol 3,048 students in the 2023–2024 academic year. It also says that the schools and the allocation of places were decided by taking into account earlier enrolment and each school's day-to-day management of medical teaching for international students. The annex has three columns: 序号 (number), 学校 (school) and the 2023–2024 enrolment plan. The annex has no province column. The province figures on this page come from this site. Each annex row was matched to the national list of higher education institutions, which the Ministry gave as of 17 June 2026. The province is the header under which the school is printed in that list. This is not always the province in which the school is located.
The annex lists universities by their Chinese names. This register uses English names. The order of the annex and the size of each plan are not a ranking. This page does not rank provinces.
The places are added up by this site. The sum of all 44 plans is 3,048, which matches the total row printed in the annex (合计 3048).

Scope and currency
The list covers the 2023–2024 academic year only. The Ministry's policy index, as this site read it on 11 October 2026, lists the 2023-05-30 notice as the newest annual list. The date beside each title in that index is the date the notice was put on the site. The index listed an earlier edition dated 2021-04-01 for the 2021–2022 list. The reader should confirm the current year's status with the university and with the Ministry.
